The Grinch is a cranky green monster with a heart a quarter the size of a normal human's, described as small-minded, who lives in a cave on top of a hill next to the town with his dog Max. He hates Christmas and is jealous of the happy atmosphere of the town over Christmas, vowing to destroy it completely by dressing up as Santa Claus and stealing from the homes of everyone in town, before he comes to realize that happiness is not built on material things.
